Issue detection, e.g. clash detection, is run frequently during the planning phase of a construction project. Normally hundreds, even thousands, of clashes will be spilled out every one or two weeks. Clash notes produced by clash detection tools are often send manually via email or files sharing tools, to hear nothing about it ever after – until the next clash run. The same clashes are showing up over and over again, without clear evidence of measures been taken and results been returned in the previous run.
Using the new BIM Issue Resolution (BIR) SmartFlow, it's now possible to track the complete clash resolution process: Clash notes can be uploaded to the project space (as BCF) and be further processed. All people in charge are involved in the clash resolution process and receive the request to take care of the issues that have been arised, returning back results in time. The status of each clash resolution and comments can be added within the SmartFlow. The underlying BIM Collaboration Format (BCF) makes it possible to look up and preview clashes resolution results in the BCF Viewer.

All BIM Issue Resolution (BIR) SmartFlows can be supervised by the person in charge. There are comprehensive reporting options giving an overview of the processes and disclose typical challenges/problems of clash detection.
